About Backroad ’90
Backroad ’90 is a car club dedicated to enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on the authentic driving experience. We celebrate the analog era of automobiles from 1980 to 2005, where manual transmissions, mechanical simplicity, and driver connection reign supreme. Our motto, Sine Frivolis, Anima in Machina, encapsulates our philosophy: without frills, soul in machine. We reject the modern automotive industry’s obsession with unnecessary features, touchscreens, and overcomplicated designs that distance drivers from the road and inflate costs.
Our community brings together passionate drivers who value character, workability, and the pure connection between driver and machine. We believe in the simplicity of the analog era, where cars respond to your inputs and reward skilled driving. Whether you’re cruising down a backroad in a foxbody Mustang or any manual transmission classic from our era, you belong here. We meet monthly for driving events and gatherings that celebrate the joy of authentic automotive passion.
A Home For Drivers
Backroad ’90 was created because enthusiasts of analog-era drivers’ cars often find themselves without a true home. Modern car culture increasingly revolves around technology, status, and speculation, while many traditional car clubs focus on collector vehicles and concours preservation. BR90 exists for the people who still drive their cars.
Membership
Membership in BR90 is reserved for owners of analog-era enthusiast vehicles produced between 1980 and 2005 and equipped with a manual transmission. However, owning a qualifying vehicle alone does not grant membership.
Membership is earned through participation. Prospective members are expected to attend at least three consecutive BR90 events, become familiar faces within the community, and receive sponsorship from a current member before being considered for membership.
BR90 is built on participation, respect, and a shared appreciation for engaging driver’s cars. Membership is intentionally selective to preserve the culture and camaraderie that make the club unique.
Monthly Events
